May 31 as Memorial Day

America celebrates another important day, May 31. This day is a day to pay tribute to the brave men and soldiers who fought for their country. This day is Memorial Day for the families who have lost their love one who sacrificed his life in fighting for America. On the other hand, for families who have a family member who is still serving in the military, it is Decoration Day. May 31 was declared as an official holiday in 1971 after the name Memorial Day was declared in 1967.

During this day, several seminars are held where parents of some soldiers who died in battle were invited by some departments to say something about their son or daughter. Before the war in Iraq, this day was a barbecue day for almost all Americans. It was only after the war that the tradition changed.
