It all started with the red carpet as the big stars enter the Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre, ultimatum venue of their movies.
Anne Hathaway and James Franco were the tasked to do the emcee jobs with their glamor of youthful beauties. Although when it comes to the hosting, not so many are pleased with how they deliver.
“Anne, I must say you look so beautiful and so hip,” Franco complimented.
“Thank you, James,” Hathaway replied. “You look very appealing to a younger demographic, as well.”
The movies that are “front-runners” of the categories actually won the prizes which make the Academy Awards to be said as “predictable.”
The movie ‘The King’s Speech’ bagged 4 major awards including the best actor award for Colin Firth, the best picture, best director for Tom Hooper and the original screenplay.
Natalie Portman was also triumphant as she take home the best actress award for her movie ‘Black Swan’, while Christian Bale took the best supporting actor and Melissa Leo got the best supporting actress both for the movie ‘The Fighter.’
Veteran Kirk Douglas also made the crowd laugh as he jokingly announced the best supporting actress award.
Douglas commented one of the host, Hathaway, “Wow! Where were you when I was making movies?”
While he also joke with Franco about the actor’s movie 127 Hours. Douglas said: “You look much better out of the cave…”
Leo, who was then at the backstage, applauded Douglas’ jokes. She said, “He was doing us all this huge favour, because the longer he strung it out, the calmer I got to be.”
The movie ‘Inception’ also take home four awards which are all technical awards including visual effects, cinematography, sound editing and sound mixing.
