Hayley Williams Photo Leak – Facebook Scam Warning

4 June 2010 . No Comment

Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams recently had a controversial photo uploaded to Twitter, which was instantly deleted. But some Facebook members took advantage of this opportunity to spread links all over Facebook that leads to Hayley Williams controversial Twitpic.

Facebook warns members that the links in Facebook that says ‘Hayley Williams Photos’ would unlikely lead you to them. Instead, you’ll only be publishing the same link on your Facebook profile, putting your friends at risk of falling for the same scam.

“Attacks like this can spread very quickly. Judging by the number of messages I’ve seen, thousands have already found it impossible to resist the idea of seeing the Hayley Williams Twitpic and have fallen head-first into the ‘likejacking’ trap,” said Graham Cluley of security firm Sophos.

The Hayley Williams Photo Facebook Links Scam relates to the ‘LIKE Worm’, where thousands of Facebook members were tricked into clicking on links such as: “LOL This girl gets OWNED after a POLICE OFFICER reads her STATUS MESSAGE”.

Similar online scams include promises of hot pictures of Cheryl Tweedy, Emma Stone, Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie and Paris Hilton.

Justin Bieber Facebook fans should be aware that a similar scam promising the mobile phone number of Justin Bieber had been spotted on Facebook.
