In Rye New Hampshire, about 100 people were stung by a large dead jellyfish at a state beach park.

Lifeguards first spotted the jellyfish, claimed to be a Lion’s Mane jellyfish by the marine fisheriesof the state, having a size of a “turkey platter”. The jellyfish is about 50 pounds in weight.

As the staffs tried to remove it, the jellyfish fell apart into pieces and scattered on the waters. Even though the jellyfish is dead its stingers were still active stinging nearly 100 beachgoers in the area and sending nine children to be treated at a hospital.
